DON CRESSWELL
THE MAN BEHIND THE CAMERA
Don has been creating all his life. From drawing cars at a young age and having aspirations to be an Automotive Designer to being introduced to Graphic Design in High School which then led to an Advertising major at San Jose State University. Don then went in a different direction and has had over a thirty five year career in Aviation. During his extensive travel over the years he often took his camera along, in 2015 he decided to take his passion for photography seriously. Beyond travel his lifelong passions for both the grace of automotive design and all things culinary are evident in his respective series on those subjects.
Don got his art education from the Oakland Public Schools, Laney College, San Jose State, ongoing lectures, classes and workshops from California artists. Don’s Graphic Design and Art teachers who have been instrumental in his creative process are Phil Gronquist, Robert Burridge and Tim Schaible. Don’s Photography instructor/mentor is internationally acclaimed automotive photographer Michael Alan Ross.
