Current Art Exhibit at Blackhawk Gallery
The Alamo Danville Artists’ Society opened Blackhawk Gallery’s new Exhibit ‘Enchantment’ on November 22nd. The exhibit will be on view seven days a week through Sunday January 26. The Exhibit is free and open to the public.
The ‘Enchantment’ exhibit features one guest artist and forty member artists. Guest artist Susan Berger will be showing her flameworked and fused glass. Members’ artworks include paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, jewelries, and wearable art.
The exhibit is curated by Elena Doronkina, Shadi Kiaee, Kerima Swain and Beverly Turner.
The Blackhawk Gallery is located at 3416 Blackhawk Plaza Circle in Danville, California, in the Blackhawk Plaza. Telephone: (925) 648-8023.

Susan Berger
Strong Heart Glass began as a lark in 2015 when I was on the verge of becoming an empty-nester and was striving to step outside my comfort zone. After experimenting with various industrial arts, it was glass flameworking, and later glass fusing, that quickly became my passion.
In 2016, after a series of unexpected life challenges, my work became both more focused and expressive as I began using it to express a growing internal chaos. My glass work became a spiritual space, giving me purpose and grounding. Even now, each piece is an expression of both disorder and stability.
What I find most moving about working with glass is that it is a process from which I am continually learning. The glass instructs me as to what it will be, as if it has its own mind. Each piece is a unique adventure because of this. No two pieces will ever be exactly the same.
