Horizons Exhibit at Blackhawk Gallery

Hello, my name is Joe Tringali.  I am retired and live in Danville CA. I have had a lifelong attraction to images and was an avid photographer most of my. life. I have a special interest in Yosemite National Park and was able to live in the valley for three years while working for Yosemite Park & Curry Company.

In my youth I always had my nose buried in the big photo magazines, Life, Look, National Geographic. Unknowingly I became fascinated with composition, form, light, and shadow. This started a love of all things photography from taking the image, developing and printing the negative, and in the digital age, processing my work using tools like photoshop.

I became interested in painting when I found that most of my photos were starting to look like paintings. It was then that I decided to pick up a brush and begin painting.  I did my undergraduate art school work in the Bob Ross School of Art and did my graduate work at the YouTube University. I have found a likeminded community of artists at the California Watercolor Association and have been involved with CWA for 7 years, currently on the Board of Directors as the Director of Workshops. My artwork has been accepted into several juried shows including the 2021 California Watercolor Association National Exhibition. My wife and I love to travel, and still find time for photography, grandkids and watercolor!
