Nancy Shake grew up in Indiana but with the love of adventure, has lived in four states and two other countries. She taught art in Indiana at different times from 1969 to 2010 in grades k – college, Louisiana University, and also Dominican Republic and the Republic of China (grades 6 – 12). And was a media producer at the University of Wisconsin, Parkside and Saddleback Community College, California. While traveling around the United States and other countries she took photographs that would later turn into water colors, oil paintings, mixed media, batik and cloth art.
Nancy began teaching art in 1969 and retired in 2013. She last taught in the United States at Center Grove H.S., Greenwood Indiana and in 2010 began teaching at Dalian International School, Jininshitan, China. She taught there for three years. Since her return she has spent part of every day in her art studio.
