Annual ADAS SPRING ART SHOW

Saturday May 18th and Sunday May 19th, 2023

The art show will feature  Paintings, Photography, and Sculpture in a large artist exhibit in Blackhawk Plaza. All artists in all mediums are welcome (2D & 3D). Plein air painters are invited and will be doing painting in the Plaza.

Eligibility:  All artists over 18 years in all mediums are welcome (2D & 3D).

Entry Fee (non-Refundable): ADAS Members: $35 for up to 3 entries. Non-members: $50 for up to 3 entries. Artwork wider than 36” counts as 2 entries.

Entry form: Artist information and artwork entries must be entered on-line. Payments are processed through PayPal, where you may use your debit card, credit card, or PayPal account. You may also mail a check.

Art Show Judge: <TBD>

Awards: Cash awards and ribbons will be given for Merit awards, ribbons will be given for Honorable Mention winners. Our independent art show judge will select the winners.

Show Rules: Original Work: 2D and 3D artwork must be the artist’s own original work. Not accepted: Giclees, work based on other artist’s work or published photographs, work done under the supervision of an instructor, or in a workshop. Content limitations: No overt political statement or frontal nudity please. The show committee will make the determination of appropriate art at receiving.

2D artwork must be framed or on Gallery-wrapped canvas (at least 1½” deep, with edges painted). Glass is not allowed for 2D artwork (use plexi). Wire fastenings must be flush mounted, no saw toothed hooks, no eye hooks or other wire fastenings that protrude from the back of the work

3D artists will need to assist 3D Coordinator in installation. Artists will need to provide pedestals if needed.

Delivery: All artwork must be tagged on the back when you deliver it. The tags must agree with the application or it cannot be accepted. Artwork tags will be provided when you check in.

Insurance: is the responsibility of the artist. ADAS does not provide property insurance and is not responsible for damage or loss.

Sales: The Blackhawk Gallery will process any sales. A 25% sales commission will apply and 3% credit card fee if applicable.

Volunteers: Assistance will be requested when you submit your entry form. We need help with panel setup, artwork receiving, artwork installation, exhibit staffing, artwork pickup, panel takedown and storage.

Timeline:

  • Entry Applications:  Wednesday May 3rd 5:00 PM PST, 2023 All entry applications must be received by this date.

  • Artwork Drop-off: Friday May 13th from 300 pm to 7:00 pm 

  • Exhibit Hours: Saturday May 20th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Sunday May 21st from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm 

  • Artists’ Reception: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All artists should attend. Guests are invited. Awards at 5:00 pm.

  • Artwork Pick-up· Sunday May 21st from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Artists pick up all artwork. Unclaimed artwork will be moved to the Blackhawk Gallery which must be picked up during business hours.
