I was born and raised in Beijing, China. Now, I am living in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California.
My early education was focused on Engineering and technology. I got Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of China. I worked as an automotive designer and engineer for 25 years in Beijing before moving to California.
When I arrived in the Bay Area of San Francisco, I wanted to paint to express my true passion for oil painting. I studied Fine Art at DVC and got a Certificate in Painting and Drawing. I also attended workshops and was mentored by Chinese artists, Bay Area artists, a French artist, and a Russian artist.
My primary medium is oil in a style that combines semi-impressionism and realism together. I love the creative process of letting my feelings fill the canvas to capture emotion and reality. I pour colorful meaning into my work. Through my journey of art exploration, my focus is to implant culture using lines, shapes, colors, and textures to express a unique and more appealing painting.
My goal in life is to follow my passion as an artist through my paintings. I hope to draw viewers in to see my emotion and culture that expresses the inner me. I am enjoying a life as an engineer and artist. I believe they have inspired me to think scientifically and spark artistic intuition.
